TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain an education visa in Thailand, one must enroll in a physical institution, as online classes are not eligible for visa sponsorship. Any university can assist with the visa process if a degree program is pursued. Students are expected to remain in Thailand and may be required to demonstrate language proficiency and pass classes. Cooking classes are also an option, though they may be more costly. The topic of a potential three-month visa exemption for British citizens was discussed, but it appears there are currently no such visas available.

Why would you need a visa to do online courses? These can be done from anywhere in the world

Is there any chance of the 3 month visa coming in for British citizen this year please 🙏

@Neville *******
There's no three months visa for UK citizens. That's only for Russian citizens

There's a chance but not much of one (you don't mean Visa, you mean Visa Exempt entry so no Visa)

You can’t take online class and you must remain in the country with no option to leave due to your presence being needed. You will likely be tested on your language skills as a guy and it is possible to be deported. You must pass all your classes and you will be tested on skills every 90 days at least, particularly at the beginning. Other than that it doesn’t matter so much which school you use. But be sure to actually learn.

Yes, I have this visa and I acquired it with a sincere desire to learn Thai fluently. I’ll be finished with the 15 month program in three months. But of the original people who started 60% dropped out after the first six months. Thai is not a hard language, it’s easier than English. But I did have to spend around 4 hours per day either studying in school, studying at home or going to school. I think it’s great! But do be certain of your expectations. It can’t hurt to start learning in advance with Drops app, Write It Thai app, and ThaiPod. It’s not hard! It just requires a commitment. I’m really grateful to be able to speak Thai fluently and I intend to live and work here.

Another option is Muay Thai kickboxing. There is a school nearby my place that only requires two hours per week. But it does cost significantly more at around 90k for one year if I recall. Still you will be required to actually learn. I don’t really know about it. I’m planning on learning Chinese next.

Donthey have like Thia language for beginners there in school we can take. It's a win win learn and stay on ed visa

Steven Ervin you can get a retirement visa and still study thai if you want

Most likely to be tested on Thai language skills and deported due to not knowing what you should have been learning in school .

Online classes are not acceptable for education visas because you can take online classes from your home country. You do not need to be in Thailand to take online classes.

There is no "special" university, any university can assist you with getting an education visa if you are pursuing a degree there.

but what's the point of taking online classes from home country to get a Thaï visa. That makes no sense...
Brandon ************
@Alain ******
exactly. That's why you can't get a visa for online classes. Why do you need a visa if you're taking classes online? You can do that ANYWHERE. Therefore you don't need a visa, just stay home and take classes.

But if your classes are in a classroom, then you need a visa so you can attend classes. Therefore that qualifies but online classes do not.
