HCM update:

Applied Tuesday morning for edu visa and received it Wednesday afternoon. Paperwork is as requested on their website, no need for bank statement or proof of flights leaving the country. As background info i have 3 back to back visa exempt stamps from Suvranabhumi and each one of those had a 4 day gap flying in from Shanghai each time. Did not extend any of those at Chaengwattana. No questions at immigration upon return to bkk. BTW, I believe HCM will take the visa application at the afternoon time slot, however I can't promise you that they will give it to you the next day. Also Saigon is quite small, the Thai consulate is around 3.5 miles from the airport. Wish you guys luck in your applications. Also, check your stamp at immigration in bkk, the io accidentally gave me a 30 day stamp, I had to go back to him and ask him to change it for 90 days, no problems.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user shared their recent experience applying for an education visa at the Thai consulate in Ho Chi Minh City, noting that they received their visa within a day without needing to provide a bank statement or flight proof. They mentioned their previous visa history with back-to-back visa exempt stamps from Suvarnabhumi Airport and highlighted the proximity of the consulate to the airport. Additionally, they warned about the possibility of receiving an incorrect stamp duration and advised checking the stamp at immigration.
