TLDR : Answer Summary
To obtain an Education Visa (ED Visa) in Thailand as a Pakistani national currently holding a short-term visa, you need to sign up for a course at a designated school. The school will provide the necessary paperwork for your visa application. However, you cannot convert your current visa while in Thailand; instead, you must travel to your home country or another designated country to apply for the ED visa. The application fee for the visa is approximately 2,000 THB. Additionally, you must attend classes regularly—typically at least 8 to 10 hours a week—to maintain your visa status.

Here is the list of countries that CANNOT use the thai consulates in Lao for a visa
Amornrat **********
The Embassies can accept Non B applications, but paperwork will be send to Bangkok for approval, that takes around 3 weeks while the applicant has to wait in Laos. I think for Non O n ED the applicant has to return home country.
, this list is of countries that can't use Lao for a tourist visa, can they get another type of visa there or is it ALL visas??

Question: I've seen this but it is underlined Tourist Visa, does it count for every visa?

same situation I am;
but now asking :
which school is known clearly about this ED visa?
a course that allows you to apply for ED visa.
(how many hours in a week)
if some school suggestions?
Shane *********
Nasser yes it matters. If you want to get an Ed Visa you actually have to go to school. You can’t just sign up for a course and not go. This is the reason immigration is making it difficult for people who follow the laws of the land.
Sergey *********
I am not sure, but it's minimum 8 or 10 hours per week

"Just visa" doesn't work in Bangkok for sure. No studying - no visa.

Your visa will also be 90 days. It has to be extended every 90 days at immigration.
Robert *******
Use Google Maps, find schools in your area and go there to get information. If you do NOT want to learn anything go for other type of Visa.

Bangkok
but doesn’t matter? I just need the visa
and i know the 90 days report.

School suggestions? You better specify your location first. There are many schools around the country

No, once you have all the paperwork from the school you would need to travel to a neighbouring country to get an ED visa. Many people choose Vientiane in Laos as it is close, cheap and easy. You can travel there by bus or you can fly.

My comment further down acknowledged that already.
, you need to be aware that people from some countries have to go back to their home country to get a visa (of any kind). Not everyone can go to a thai consulate in a neighboring country and get one.

Can I convert while staying in thailand

Stricter rules (on Pakistani passport) since Oct/Nov 2017
, I think it depends on the university. I have seen people who changed their Tourist visa to ED in Thailand.
Hassan *******
You have to go back to Pakistan (either Islamabad or Karachi) to get ED visa (neighboring countries are not even options, currently), along with all the docs from your school/institute/university.
