TLDR : Answer Summary
The community discussion indicates mixed experiences regarding the use of Revolut and WISE account statements as proof of the 500,000 THB requirement for visa applications in Thailand. Many users affirm that Revolut has been accepted without issues, while WISE has faced scrutiny, with some reports of Thai immigration rejecting its use due to it not being a 'real' bank. The consensus leans towards Revolut being the safer option, while WISE's acceptance may vary depending on specific embassies or immigration offices.

Wise provides you a real account in the strongest currencies, yes! a real account with swift and account number.
Luit *****************
A real WIse account you mean, NOT a BANK account. Read on the Wise website and see Wise also tells they just are not a bank.

@Luit ****************
I mean for example a real Canadian bank account in a real Canadian bank, same with USD Euro. it's useless to debate about this. Wise works with DTV application. The fact is that DTV is very hasardous from an embassy to the other. For now, the easiest is JAKARTA in SEA.
Luit *****************
@Samy ********
Debating is useless, Wise is no bank, they agree with that themselves. Because it is no bank there is no need for Thai embassies to accept money in a Wise bank account as proof of funds. The fact that some embassies accept Wise does not make an obligation for others to accept. Your statement that Wise works with DTV is incorrect. It only works when embassies voluntary accept Wise as proof of funds, the official requirements ask for a bank account.

you should not have big amounts of money in any online platform that isnt a real bank.

from the comments the answer seems to be

REVOLUT - Most likely ok

WISE - most likely not ok
Holp ******
I showed proof of funds in my Wise account with no issue whatsoever. My DTV Visa was still rejected though 😜

@Holp *****
why was it rejected?
Holp ******
@Julien *****
I still don't know since no explanation was provided 🤷‍♂️
Karl *******
Yes you can. Done, and visa issued without any problem.
Thomas *******
Yes you can , I use my Revolut for apply and it’s ok I receive the visa 2 weeks after sending all documents
Luit *****************
@Thomas ******
Revolut has a full bank license in some countries,

Wise just is not a bank.

If you trust them with large amounts of money is a different case, and I would not consider 500K THB as a large amount of money anyway.
John **********
They are not banks so the answer is maybe, it will depend on whether the embassy you apply via will accept them. There was a report yesterday of Thai immigration refusing to accept Wise for an extension to the DTV

i thought you only show the 500K on application, do you have to show it everytime you re-enter the country within the 5 year period?
John **********
@Frazer ***********
you definitely have to show it for an extension inside Thailand. When entering I'm sure they can ask but normally they don't

i take a trip a few times a year so that shouldnt be an issue

@John *********
depends on the country, revolut is a bank in some European countries indeed.
Expat **********
@John *********
Wise isn’t but Revolut is more of a grey area.
John **********
@Expat *********
Revolut now has a restricted banking licence so still not a full bank

@John *********
Depends which jurisdiction you’re talking about

Well given the poster has a Union Jack on his profile it's pretty obvious he's from the UK
James *******
Someone else posted yesterday they were knocked back unless it was from a ‘real’ bank. Might be worth searching
Wannikea *********
@James ******
that was for an in country extension

@Wannikea ********

Yes

Anonymous participant 464 Wise isn’t a bank.

@Expat *********
the replies that says no one has been rejected? Money in your wise account is accessible immediately. I would be surprised if he got rejected
Luit *****************
@Nick ******
They ask for a bank account, when they accept Wise, they can accept any company or private person where you can park money that is accessible immediately.
Nick *******
@Expat *********
doesn’t matter
Expat **********
@Nick ******
it does ( for some offices for sure).

Yes, I used Revolut from London and was approved with no request for additional info. But recently someone in Chiang Mai had their extension rejected using wise, IO told her it’s not a real bank 🤷‍♂️
Anonymous ******************
@Dom *******
Wise does not have a banking license while Revolut does
Expat **********
@Dom *******
They’re right. It isn’t a bank whereas arguably Revolut is.
Luit *****************
@Expat *********
Revolut is not a bank in all countries they operate, but has a number of bank licences.
Dom ********
@Expat *********
seems there’s more scrutiny with the extensions. No one has mentioned getting rejected using wise or Revolut for their initial application. But you are right it’s technically not a proper bank
Anonymous ******************
@Dom *******
well the IO does have a point, technically, it’s not a bank.
