Hi, guys.

So I just got my DTV Visa at the thai ambassy in laos.

Just to give you heads up.They are denying a lot of visa if you don't have some type of work contract or letters to prove your legit employment abroad.

They ask For minimum three months bank statement but in some cases they ask for 6 month.

You need to have the 500k on a single bank account for that period if you just dropped 500k just before application they might deny it.

If the money is spread on several account they won't receive your application.

Also don't make any carpets with post it they hate it.

Keep it super simple.

The form with already glued pictures. Copy of passport with exit stamp of thailand and entry in laos. Well written in capital letters.

Proof of hotel in laos and in thailand.

Work contract abroad and the 3 month bank statement. The the other 3 on the side in case they ask for it.

That's enough.

If you go there asking questions they won't help you out. They will tell you to read the website. They have almost 200 applicants per day so they are pretty busy.

You need to have an appointment before going there.

Even if you queue number is 55 you can go early in the morning and drop you application they don't make you wait until it's your queue number so that's nice. They open at 9 am and People arrive at 8am.

Print everything in thailand. The places near the embassy are just crazy and want to charge you 20bath for a copy or print. Away from the amabassy you can find places that will print for 1000rip per page tho but far away.

PS if you look for a great place to eat go to "la Terrasse " great food and great price we ate there all week with my wife and kid.

In this message I'm telling you all I know. I was not able to ask any questions I had even for my wife and kid that will apply tomorrow.

Good luck to you all.

Thanks so much for the information! Did you do this yourself or with an agency? (Sorry if it's already been answered) I need to do this in a few months when my visa expires...🙏

Many Embassies are only online, Jakarta and Taipei are walk in currently. Yangon can book an appointment.

use the thai ambassy website .

.it's free and you can open an account directly with them. They have a big sign at the embassy that say that they don't allow agency's so if you want to do the dtv just make tour own appointment it takes 5 min. To be honest the paper work is very easy.

There is no DTV website 😕

I think you're confusing countries in the west who use the eVisa online system with the online appointment system you use to book an appt to get in the gate and apply IN PERSON at the thai consulates in Vientiane or Savannakhet Lao

Please kindly understand, US visa office and VFS global for Schengen, Canada, ANZ, or UK always reject visa for Thai using BullShet reasons as well. This is fair sir.

THB, but what do people do if they don't have it in cash on them? Does the embassy in Vientiane accept credit cards?

Thank you for your very informative post. I went Monday morning at Vientiane. I go back tomorrow.

They selected the documents they wanted from me, asked a couple questions, took my money and sent me on my way.

I’ve been nervously waiting until tomorrow.

For documents that is related with work, is the work contract would be enough, or any else do they ask for? like recommendation letter from employer, or company registration, and so on.

when do they usually refuse? When do you still submit document or after 2 days when you paid the money and can not return them?

so I've seen people that got refused also got their money back. Not sure if all of the then but all the ones that i saw gor their money back tho it clearly days that they won't return your money once you have applied. They only take your money the day of the appointment if you have all the paperwork. If not they don't take anything.

We submitted the documents yesterday at the same embassy as you. They asked for a statement for 3 months. The only thing that worries me is that we had a large transfer to the account 1 week ago, which was 500k THB. But they didn't tell us anything. They accepted the documents and payment. We'll find out tomorrow.

We also applied in Laos. Could you share with us while you were waiting for 2 days, did they call you or ask for additional documents? People say they do this often in different Embassy. We are worried that they do not ask for anything. For Thais, this is more likely a refusal.

more likely they'd ask you when you were applying, before you paid, if you were doing it physically in Laos. It's most likely you will get the visa if they took the application and the money, they check the documents when you apply. It's the e-visa they come back to ask for more.

You must be so relieved to have got your DTV.. I heard at that weekend via a travel agent Laos focuses on the financial evidence more than other embassies.
