Can I reuse my consular legalized birth certificate for my Guardian Visa extension in Thailand?

I would appreciate your advice regarding my upcoming Guardian Visa extension. I am currently on my first-year extension, and for last year’s application, I submitted a consular legalized birth certificate as proof of relationship.

Could you please confirm whether I can re-use the same document for this year’s extension, or if I need to obtain a newly consular legalized version? If so, how long such certified documents are considered valid.

Thank you so much🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user seeks advice on whether they can reuse their consular legalized birth certificate for their upcoming Guardian Visa extension in Thailand. They previously submitted this document with their first extension and want to know if a new legalized document is necessary. A comment suggests that reusing the original birth certificate might be acceptable, but it is advisable to confirm with the immigration office before applying. Additionally, it is noted that for the first year of a Guardian Visa, a financial requirement involving a Thai bank account also applies.

I wouldn't think you'd need to get those re-done every year and that just having the originals from the first extension should be enough BUT I'd still go talk to your immigration office about it well before you go to apply for the extension so you know what they want you to do as far as documentation.

Also remember the first year of a 'guardian visa' <-where you're raising a foreign child here, the 500K baht has to be in a thai bank for 30 days before you apply, but for subsequent yearly extensions it has to be in for 3 months before you apply.
