Hi All,

Just after some clarification if possible?

We are going back to Thailand to visit family & I was intending to extend my 30 day Visa ‘exemption’ for an additional 27-30 days. I did this last year without any difficulties & Im hoping for the same experience this year!

Have noticed recently that a lot of articles state that the TM6 (Arrival/ Departure Card) is not used anymore when entering the Kingdom???

Is this correct & if so, is there other/ new documentation required to be submitted for the extension application?

T.I.A 🙏🏼

TLDR : Answer Summary
The TM6 Arrival/Departure Card has been temporarily suspended for air arrivals but is still issued at land borders. If you did not receive one, it's not needed for the extension application. Different immigration offices may have varying requirements, so it's essential to check with your local office. For stays between 30 to 60 days, obtaining a 60-day tourist visa is recommended due to its convenience and cost-effectiveness. Additionally, you can now make appointments at immigration offices, reducing processing time to 30-45 minutes.

Good news with extensions is now you can make an appointment at the immigration office and the process takes 30-45 minutes.

If staying in Thailand between 30 & 60 days, I prefer to apply for the 60 day touristvisa,

It’s cheaper,

Everything is done from the homeoffice,

No need to use holiday time to locate, go to & wait at a Immigration office.

No need for a onward ticket within the first 30 days.

Remember when staying with family, the houseowner is responsibel to make a TM30 report within 24 hours.

The TM6 is temporarily suspended for air arrivals but still handed out at land borders. If you did not receive one you do not submit it with your application for extension. Each office in the country makes their own requirements so what your office wants may or may not be the same as previously.
