About to get a bank account, i know that is not easy if holding DTV, a lot of contradictory comments. My situation is a little bit different because i hold DTV but at same time I'm married with Thai woman. Then, will be more esay for me to obtains account in a Thai bank?
Goal: Is to open a Thai Bank account so I can slowly build up the 800,000 baht over the next two years.
Plan: I will be taking my normal 2 week holiday in Thailand, I will be in and out. But this time , I plan on entering on a Non Immigrant O Retirement visa from my home country.
I want to do what is necessary to open a Thai Bank Account, as if I were going to apply for the Non Immigrant O extension.
If I can secure the Bank Account,. mission successful, and I would exit I hope on the Non O visa after 2 weeks.
I would then apply again for Non O in 2027, When I actually plan on living in Thailand for long term. Again my main purpose on this trip is simply to begin the funding process early and establish the Thai Bank Account, so I can move money a bit at a time.
Will there be any problems on my exit, if I exit after 2 weeks on the Visa. I hope it is my prerogative how long I stay less than the 90 days.
I’ve been reading numerous posts about how you need a Thai Bank Account for the Retirement Visa. I see that Citibank has offices and branches in Thailand. If I have a Citibank account, would that be acceptable? TIA!

Going to stay at same hotel in Pattaya I stayed for over 3 months left March .I
kept receipts.
Will pay for one month and will be staying there first 3 months.
I will get copy of TM 30.
Will this be enough to get me a residence permit from the immigration office in Jomtien ?
I have been there before to get a 30 day extension.
Do I just join the queue to try to get residence permit or is there a separate section at the immigration centre who deal with this matter? Any advice appreciated.
Hi, we (wife and I) are considering applying for a Retirement visa but we are not planning on moving to Thailand for another year (when I finish working).
I am wondering if we can apply for the visa now (and basically just hold it until the time comes for us to move there), or do we have to wait until we arrive in Thailand (or apply from where I am, immediately before going there) on some other type of visa and then apply for the Retirement visa?
Also, and related to above, is there a minimum days-per-year that we have to live in Thailand when we have a Retirement visa?
