TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquires about a potential visa amnesty in Thailand that might extend until January 15, particularly since their visa expires on Boxing Day. Comments clarify that the amnesty has ended, but extensions are available. A 30-day extension can be obtained easily, while a more extended 60-day extension can be applied for due to COVID-19 related travel issues at local immigration offices for a fee of 1,900 THB. Users provide details on required paperwork, suggesting that it varies by immigration office.

do I need any additional paperwork for this?

It depends on your immigration office. MOST offices require the following:

1. Paperwork that you get at the local immigration office

2. Your passport, and copies of

a. Your data ("picture") page

b. Your last visa page

c. Your last entry stamp

d. Your last extension of stay stamp

e. Your departure card

3. 2x passport pictures

4. Your most recent TM30

5. 1,900 THB.

HOWEVER...

SOME immigration offices want to see copies of all pages of your passport.

SOME immigration offices want to see the ID of the property owner.

Amnesty finished a long time ago but you can go to immigration and pay 1,900 for a new stamp.

mixed reports, some say yes or an email/screenshot showing they won't issue one whereas other offices don't request it.

Yes, you need to go to immigration and apply for an extension.
