Just a quick immigration update. I got the emergency extension letter from the UK embassy and was given an under consideration stamp the last day of that is tomorrow.

Obviously since then the visa amnesty has been announced - I wasn't sure if I was covered or not so I went to Korat immigration this morning.

Firstly, the visa amnesty is clearly working as there were about 6 farangs there. I was seen almost immediately, gave them my passport, they stamped me up to 25th of April but said I'm good until 30th and if it's extended beyond that then I don't need to go back to immigration.

They didn't need any paperwork at all, just my passport.

Edit:. There was no charge for this, I paid 1900 two weeks ago when I first applied for the emergency extension.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user shares their recent experience at Korat immigration regarding the visa amnesty and emergency extension. They received a stamp valid until April 25th, but were informed they are covered until the 30th, and don’t need to return if the amnesty is extended. No paperwork was required, just their passport, and there was no charge for this extension. Other users inquire about the immigration process and express appreciation for the update.

thanks for the update. Did they explain why they even bothered to give you the 25th stamp if you were good until the 30th?? Just wondering as will be in a similar situation next month if amnesty is extended.

Definitely worth it for the peace of mind, plus they stamped my passport. Who knows what they'd have said if I didn't have the stamp. Probably ok but not sure.

Okay great, thanks for the reply.....so if you hadn’t gone at all today all still would have been fine after your first extension anyway?

Just administration I guess. Can't stamp me for longer than entitled to. They did reassure me that it was fine to 30th and upto the end of any further amnesty.

I thought everyone is extended till the 30th without needing to go get the extension?

I was "under consideration", so I though I should go. I'm now good til 30th despite the stamp saying 25th.

I am.in Korat. CHOHO. I want to.go to immigration and ask a question. We decided to wait until after Songran.

My experience has always been good but we more deal with the immigration Police.

Is there only one immigration office in Korat? How do you feel about dealing with them?

Generally speaking they're fantastic. They seem to get better and better. Organised and efficient.
