Thai Embassy in Myanmar takes an interview for every applicant (except those who depend on the DTV holder). Is it the same in the Thai Embassies in Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam?

Hello. I am interested in heading to Laos to apply for a 3 month visa. Would anyone happen to have any updated information on how it works? How long it takes to receive and how much it costs etc. Thank you so much in advance

To assist others, here is my experience of applying for a tourist visa in Vientiane (Laos). I booked an appointment online ([members only]/) (I recommend to do it at least a 10 days before your trip otherwise your date will not be available).

A week later, I arrived in Vientiane at the Thai embassy. Although my appointment instructed me to come around 10 am, I arrived at the opening at 9. There were fewer than 30 people, and the entire process was exceptionally fast. After waiting in line for 10 minutes, it was my turn.

Here are all the documents I provided:

- 1 copy of the main/bio page of my passport

- 1 copy of the page with the Laos stamp and visa

- The filled visa application form

- 2 ID photos attached to it (you have to glue them yourself; there was glue on the table)

- 1 copy of my flight ticket to enter Thailand

- 1 copy of my flight ticket to leave Thailand within 60 days

- 1 copy of hotel booking (I booked for just 3 days)

- 3 copies as proof of finance (3 months' billing of my bank account; they were not in English, so I underlined the amount on each page to avoid issues)

In the end, the guy checked my documents, and it took less than 30 seconds before he approved my application and gave me another appointment to pick up my passport two days later.

I applied on Wednesday morning and picked up my passport on Friday afternoon.

A few local friends in Chiang Mai have asked me for guidance on a border run. Their ED visas run out in April. They'll need another full 90 days just on a TR visa (not on another ED visa or any other Non-O) before they depart Thailand permanently. Thus the visa extension doesn't quite get them the 90 days they need. Guessing Laos is the best/closest option for them to do a border run to get a new 60 day TR visa that they can then extend another 30 days in-country. Is the best travel option for them to fly to Vientiane and do all that at the embassy there, or fly to Udon Than,i and then head to and cross the border to take care of business?

I’m currently in Laos and planning to enter Phuket sandbox. The Thai embassy in Laos aren’t processing e-visas at the moment, but are able to issue Certificate of Entry. I’m a UK citizen, does anyone know if it’s possible to have the e-visa processed by the Thai Embassy in UK (all electronically) and the CoE issued by the embassy in Laos? Or do they both need to be issued by the same embassy (not possible for me as CoE must be issued in current country so cannot be done by UK)

Thank you

Hello everybody, I was supposed to apply for a non immigrant ED (Internship at the UN) in Vientiane and booked an appointment. I just received the official letter from the UN, and somehow they changed into a non immigrant F (diplomatic visa). To be on the safe side, I wanted to know if the required documents are roughly the same than for an ED (form, passport, photos, official note). I checked on the website of Thai Embassy in Laos and couldn't find any info. Thanks a lot for helping
