TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa at the Royal Thai Embassy in Laos. The visa allows for a stay of 60 days and can be extended for an additional 30 days within Thailand. Note that you'll need to obtain a Visa on Arrival to enter Laos first.

Anyone can go to the Thai Embassy in Laos. and apply for a Single Entry Tourist Visa good for 60 days (term of 90 days) that can be Extended inside Thailand for another 30 days.

But to enter Laos you must buy a Visa on Arrival to get into Laos.

Yes should be very easy for you then
@Wil****
as you get visa-exempt into Laos as an ASEAN national. 1,000B for the visa and collect next afternoon. If you have a choice don't go Monday as it is busiest then.

I think you should be OK as Myanmar is not on the restricted list but I'd double check with the embassy, they won't give tourist visas to a lot of Asian nationalities including some other ASEAN ones. I have definitely seen a lot of Fillipinos there and I think I have seen people from Myanmar there before though.

William, that’s nice 😊. But it depends on your passport, not your ethnicity πŸ˜‹. You are correct, with Myanmar passport you get 14 days Visa Exempt entry into Laos. Also with Thailand, but I believe entry must be by Air only (not land).

A tourist visa is a good idea, but I have further info on ease of Myanmar passport getting Thai Visa in Laos, sorry.

And you cannot buy visa on the border - you still have to Enter Laos get the Laos Visa on Arrival - turn around - come back to Thailand - enter and get a 14 day Exempt Entry (or it may be a Visa on Arrival) for you.
