Have to go to Laos to get a tourist 60-day visa.

Is it still working as before: application until 16:30, pickup next morning?

And the same address: rue Bourichane?

Thank you!

TLDR : Answer Summary
Users confirm that to obtain a 60-day tourist visa at the Thai embassy in Vientiane, applications are accepted from 8:30 to 11:30 AM, with passport pickup the following afternoon from 1:30 to 3:30 PM. The address is Rue Bourichane. Comments also note variations in visa requirements by consulate and experiences regarding proof of onward travel and funds. Recent travel disruptions were mentioned, emphasizing the need to check flight timings and local regulations.

I took the train back and forth from Bangkok to Nong Khai. The first night started about 8 pm at Hua Lumphong and I slept on the train. I got to the border easy and early enough to go straight to the Embassy. Then 1 night in Vientiane and pick up the visa on the second afternoon. Then back to the border and the night train back to Bangkok that night - slept again. I loved that trip and the train was less than 1000 thb return.

Rue Bourichaine is correct. Take the forms in the morning, collect following afternoon. Was there last week, quite efficient.

Thank you, all well noted!

Since Nok airlines canceled their early morning flight, it's gonna take 3 days instead of 2

i meant from CNX, there used to be an early flight at 6 am, so in total it took 2d/1n, now nok air has only 2 times to Udon, which makes it 3d/2n ((

@Sha***
, the time points flying from Bangkok to Udon Thani are pretty darned good ;)

You can land in Udon early enough to get the mini-van to the border, cross, get to the consulate turn in your application before they stop taking them. The next day you can get your passport and go back to the Udon airport to catch an evening flight back to Bangkok.

All timepoints to Udon are bad. Coming back is OK if you get on your bike. 6pm from Udon to CNX.

@Pa**
, different thai consulates (even in the same country) have different requirements for issuing visas.
Paul *******
Agreed.. sometimes they do sometimes they dont.. in 22 years ive never been asked to prove anything.. but i do believe that some people have.

@Pa**
, You can be asked for these three proofs (onward travel, money, hotel booking) when using the Visa Exempt Entry method, but lucky for many people this rule is not enforced to everybody.

I flew in to bkk 3 weeks ago with no visa and they didnt ask me for proof of onward travel or money or hotel... nothing..
Paul *******
Dont they require the same in the capital then.. ?
Tod *********
@Pa**
, she's the reason it takes another day is because the time points are bad for flights to Vientiane.

FWIW: remember in Savannakhet you need to show

proof of onward travel within 60 days

proof of 20K baht in a bank account

proof of a hotel booking
Paul *******
Even if u go to Savanekhet....?

Be advised ALL thai consulates & immigration offices are closed on Friday the 28th ;)

I think Tod is right..

Tod is 99.5% always right!!!!

you turn in applications from 8.30-11.30 and you pick up your passport the next afternoon from 13:30-15:30
