ORIGINAL POSTERDTV Holders: Anyone managed to get a TIN and Bank Account after 180 days?
Hi everyone, I’m on a DTV visa and have now exceeded the 180-day threshold, making me a tax resident. However, when I visited the Revenue Department, I was told that as a "tourist" (DTV status), I can't get a Tax ID (TIN). Same issue with banks – they refuse to open an account because of the visa class.
Has anyone here successfully navigated this?
1. Which Revenue Office actually understands the 180-day rule for DTV holders?
2. And can you open a Bankaccount after recieving the TIN?
Any advice or experiences would be highly appreciated! ✌️
