So I just got a call from the airlines and they CXL'd my flight going through HK on July 5th. I rebooked the day before on Japan airlines through Tokyo. Hopefully it sticks, I just wanna get back to Thailand.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user discusses their cancelled flight to Thailand and attempts to rebook, expressing concerns about returning amidst ongoing travel restrictions. The comments reflect skepticism about entry possibilities due to current airline and government regulations, emphasizing the importance of having a valid work permit or necessary documentation. Many contributors advise caution in booking flights and suggest waiting for clearer government directives regarding foreign entries, especially from high-risk countries like the US.

any luck with your dates Yin Yin

It is your responsibility if for what ever reason they may refuse you boarding the plane. You would lose you ticket and money.
Ivan ************
Booking flights is risky at the moment. It's your responsibility to meet admission requirements of the destination, not the airline. It is not likely, but it is possible the airline DOESN'T cancel the flight but you are not admissible to get on it. That's your problem not theirs and no refund.

If the US stops testing....they will be at "0" new confirmed cases in one day. :)

There is No chance to enter Thailand.... Or you have a letter from your Thai embassy witch give you the possibility with a work permit

I really think people should wait to book flights, its absolutely insane that you would book a flight.

Its understood people want to get back to be with their wives, kids etc....

But booking a flight now and for july is crazy, borders havent even opened yet, the government hasnt even given a certain date for when tourists, non o visa holders and the rest can enter.

If you have a work permit you can get back in now, and jump through hoops to do so.

Also when thailand does open back up to tourism, there are talks/plans of only letting certain countries in first, "who have covid19 under control".

Everyone wanting to come back needs to be patient and wait for an official statement , both verbal and written by the government.

Some people really live under the rock !😂 And are acting like a little kids - crying and throwing tantrums when their toy is taken away... Why would one be so desperate to try to come to Thailand as a tourist still this year and throw money away on booking a flights that most probably will not happen ?😂😂😂

Any news on them from inside the country?

I dont think US citizens will be allowed back in for a while yet. Look at the protests and the amount of people involved you have lots more cases coming soon.

You havent really thought this through have you.
Garrett ***********
@Mic****
If everyone has to quarantine, have a fit to fly cert, and health insurance I don't understand why it would matter where you're coming from.
Bim *******
I would await government confirmation before booking any flight. Airlines will be all too willing to take your money at the moment but they will keep pushing your flights back if anything changes. No Thai consulate is dealing with foriegners at the moment only Thai nationals. That's what the government announced last week.
Clive ********
Good luck
@Jason *******
Jason let us no how you get on.. I'm missing me kids.
Ashton ********
You don’t need to worry about the flight being cancelled you need to worry about getting rejected at the Thai immigration boarder and sitting on a flight straight back
Ivan ************
There were people allowed on the plane but rejected at immigration earlier on in the epidemic. Those people who ended up sent back to Malaysia and stuck in the transit area of KLIA for example. Most likely he'd not be allowed board but with unclear and changing rules it can happen.
Garrett ***********
@Ash***
It doesn't work like that.
Greg ********
@Ashton *******
He would not even be allowed boarding by the airline to get to Thailand in the first place.
Richard *****
unless you have a valid work permit and all the paperwork, there's not a chance in hell you're getting in here.

I doubt people that are in high risk countries .. aka USA, won't probably be let in until after there is a vaccination, unless they get their confirmed cases down to near zero.

Jason like you I want to get back so bad! I cancelled twice in February then March! I keep abreast of the news from Thailand daily!

I’m sorry no way as a tourist will you go in July!

The best I can get is now October, but because the US has a high rate of cases it may be later!

Just my passport, but Im gonna take a trip up to the Thai Consulate in LA and see if there's anything else I need like a note from my Dr. Or and other BS
Greg ********
@Jason *******
No chance you are coming in on those dates as it currently stands.
David *********
@Jason *******
go do even a second of research and you will see that only select work permit holders will be allowed in to start when ever they do start allowing foriegners in.

Get a grip.
Mike ********
@Jason *******
You might be better off calling the Thai Embassy in Washington D.C. they seem to be willing to answer questions much easier then the L.A. Consulate. Plus all the protests are in that area along Melrose very near Larchmont

@Jason *******

All tickets are refundable right now so No worries there. I booked bc I wanna get back in the Country and out of the US.

@Jason *******
I'm confused as to why you would book when you will be refused entry....... can you share if you have a valid work permit and all paperwork as if not thus seems a senseless post 🤔
JD ********
& I was actually waiting for final approval on 1 yr. ED visa there when I got stuck back here. Now very unlikely I will get that anytime soon

. Assuming you have work permit? Make sure you apply for the approval to enter from your Thai embassy/consulate at least ten days before your planned flight.
Steve **********
Bold move. Hope you bought refundable tickets. I’d bet a lot of money the ban is extended. But I don’t know shit and am just guessing.
Steven ******
Coming from where exactly? Why would you book the day before, I don't get it???
