Hi, everyone. I plan to go home to South Africa for the month of April and return back to Phuket. Are there any other documents to show or provide when I go through airport immigration, other than a re-entry permit in my passport, of course? I am a teacher and have a work permit. TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
When re-entering Thailand, ensure you have your re-entry permit in your passport. Additionally, it's advisable to carry your work permit, as airlines might request it, especially if you have a one-way ticket.

It would be wise to carry your work permit. Airlines might ask for it if you enter Thailand on a one way ticket.

that's not true - it's yours and you can do whatever you want with it. It's better to take it abroad, just in case. But don't lose it!

I went home for a holiday in 2017, and had my work permit with me, just in case. I'm not sure if things have changed recently...

yes that's true if they are familiar with Thailand. But often they ask for a "residence card" and since Thai expats generally don't have those, I find a work permit does the trick. But point taken.

Airline wouldn't ask for WP, They want to see valid visa or extension of stay stamp for one way travel...
