Hi, just need some advice I am staying in Thailand on a type 0 non immigration 90 day visa as I’m visiting my Thai husband. What are my options after the 90 days are up? Can I extend it at my local immigration office for another 90 days? Or will I have to leave the country and re enter on another visa?

Thanks for any advice 🙏🏼

I will be entering Thailand on a 90 day non-immigrant o visa based on marriage. My wife and I intend to divorce when we are in Thailand , would this mean that my visa would become invalid as soon as we divorce or would I be allowed to stay for the full 90 days ?

*Apologies for hijacking a previous post and many thanks for exceptional advice provided by the group*

I just arrived BKK visa-exempt with the intention of applying for a retirement visa once I’m eligible by age (in a few weeks) but my vocation means periodic travel outside Thailand (could easily be every 90 days if necessary).

I (thought I) read that it may be possible (and much easier) to obtain a 90 day retirement visa then exit, return and repeat. Is this available and a better option for me, removing the financial and administration necessities of a ‘long term‘ retirement visa and the re-entry permit applications each time I leave?

Also can I get my first one of those visa types now that I’m already here and where would I find the requirements (note - I don’t have a state pension or statements, just savings and investments)?

Finally, would this get snagged eventually as a ‘repeat retirement returnee’ meaning at some point I need to get the long term retirement visa?

TIA 🇹🇭✌️

My 90 day single entry Non-Im-O based on marriage visa expires on July 30th. (I could not get multiple entry in Singapore due to covid 19 restrictions) When I entered through BKK airport the nice immigration lady said I would be able to extend the visa another 90 days. Now the immigration in Pattaya say cannot extend. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank You

Quick question. I’m on 90 day Tourist visa. I can still extend for a 30 days as I’ve only been here 60. Do I need to apply for the remaining 30 days before I can apply for the Covid extension? I know the the cut off date at the moment is 25th of January, so

I want to try get Covid extension now before it expires. Any help would be appreciated?

Hey everyone,

I came to Thailand around the end of Nov, from the Netherlands, under the Test and Go scheme.

We get a 30 day no visa needed allowance, and I extended once at immigration bureau in Bangkok for another 30 days a month later

I am now in Chiang mai.

Can I extend again for another 30 or more days?

Or is there any other visa i should get to extend?

Thanks a lot for any suggestions!

We are scheduled to get our non-o visa issued on Sept 15. Any idea what the 15 days is for? If the application is accepted is it ever rejected during processing and for what?

Anyway, apparently the 90 days of the non-o visa starts on the day of application. I do think I've read in here that the time starts on the day of application for a new visa, and it starts at the end of the current stay for an extension.

These are certainly questions we will ask at immigration on our next visit, but does anyone know if we can apply for the retirement extension at any office, or does it have to be at the same office the non-o was issued? I understand the 3 day before limit is no longer policy, so how early can we apply for the extension? I think I've read 45 days early. What are the documents required for the extension? If we are able to apply at Jomtien, that's likely where we will be.

Thanks for holding our hands on this again.

Good morning all! Question regarding my 90 day non-o visa. I received the first 30 days, and am due to go back in on the 22nd to extend my additional 60 days. However I have had some people tell me that there’s some flexibility with the date, and you can actually go in a day or two afterward without any problem as they already have your paperwork to extend for 60 days. Can anyone confirm or deny this? Thank you!

Hi everyone! (sorry for long message)

I am returning to Thailand this April and am hoping to stay 6 months this visit.. I'm a US citizen and am planning to arrive on an O visa, good for 90 days, and am interested in applying for a Retirement visa; however, my son who is in a Thai university told me that there have been some changes to the Retirement visa requirements recently, so I'm wondering if anyone could help me know what the requirements currently are as the Boston Thai Consulate did not have that info for me..

What I can tell you is that I receive $1400 in my bank account per month from SSDI, and have a savings of $6,100, but it's very likely I could borrow from a family member to bump my savings up to $7,000/$8,000 for the visa process if $6,100 is not enough..

My other option is to come on a Tourist visa and visit Laos and Vietnam for a spell to fill 6 months.. Or while there find a school and apply for an Education visa (from the US or, if allowed, apply from Thailand?).. But ultimately my goal is to find a visa where I meet the requirements and that would allow me to stay on a long-term basis..

Any help is appreciated as I feel a bit lost and overwhelmed with this part of my plans, and really rely on the expat community for a lot of various questions I don't have the answers to..

Thank you so much in advance for any help you think you could provide.. :)
