TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent updates indicate that Indians cannot extend their 90 Day Tourist Visa (TR) for an additional 30 days. While there are discussions around the possibility of a 30-day extension for Indians under certain conditions, primarily linked to a visa exemption promotion, this does not apply to the standard tourist visa. The extension rules are strict, allowing a total of up to 90 days, except for special cases such as marriage to a Thai national.

No one can extend a tourist visa more than up to 90 days in total, unless you’re married to a thai or have thai child in Thailand.

Unfortunately it's not any new rule. Indians have never been eligible for the 30 day extension on a tourist visa.

With the current promotion of indians getting a 30 day visa exempt, some immigration offices are allowing a 30 day extension on this, but some are not. That's irrelevant for an actual tourist visa though.

no. Indians DO NOT QUALIFY for a 30 day extension on tourist visa. It doesn't matter what immigration office. They don't qualify now and never have.

TR visa is for 60 days, not 90. If you got a Non Immigrant 90 day visa that cannot be extended for anything other than a year, meeting the requirements to do so.

but on my TR visa, it is stated that “valid from 3rd may to 2nd August” which is 3 months.

that is the time frame you’re allowed to use the tourist visa, not how long the tourist visa actually is. August 2nd is the last day you’ll be able to use that visa before it expires.

The TR visa itself is valid for 3 months from the date it’s issued at the embassy/consulate and gives you 60 days upon entry within these 3 months.
