Are your land entries recorded in the system, cause in 2018 when I did the two they wrote "land" by hand near the exemption stamp each time. I didn't assume it reset it, but they also seem to record it by hand.

You recommend handing both passports to immigration upon exit?

That it takes 40 days to request the letter and it cannot be done in a shorter time. I just wanted to check if I had any other options at all with a different ED visa or otherwise.

I figured the 40 days was going to be standard but never hurts to ask. I kind of can't believe I've been in Thailand so often over the years and in this group and have never heard one person mention the 40-60 day waiting period 😕 If I had applied for the new passport immediately after arriving it would have been almost possible to make it happen.
