I understand, but this is the term used by immigration officers in our province. While not an official extension type, it essentially acts as an extension and you are allowed 7 days before you need to leave the country and it is not noted as overstay.

Like I said, it’s the only option OP has if they don’t want to leave on the same day of cancellation,

Your best option is applying for the 7-day visa extension to allow you to wrap up your life here before you leave the country.

You need to cancel your WP first, then go to immigration on the same day with a letter from your employer stating your last working day and the evidence that your WP was cancelled.

If you don’t get this extension your visa is essentially void and you will be on overstay if you don’t leave on the same day of cancellation.

This is how my best friend and many other colleagues have done it after leaving their jobs here in Phuket.
