thanks for the info! I am just confused because I know that a colleague of mine went to China, applied through their US embassy, came back to Thailand while the visa was processing, and then left again to enter after receiving it through their US embassy.

That seems to go against everything people in this group say. Are there cases of people lying about their location and getting caught? I tried searching the group and couldn’t find anything.
