nothing is registered no. The students are direct, but I was also planning to get on an Upwork or cambly type site.

I've never done anything along the lines of registering a company before. And I'm below thresholds for tax.

You've got my slightly concerned now.

What do you recommend?

Is the graphic design stuff easier to go with?

Have I really got no choice but to register as self employed? Same with graphic design?

sorry no it's more like general graphic design with advertising, brochures, posters, etc. so I have a site where you can scroll through galleries of my work.

The work was done years ago , and my more recent work on there has been done for free , to try and build up the portfolio for this visa.

So I can't really show contracts and stuff for this graphic design work even though the portfolio looks relatively convincing.

On the other hand, with tutoring I can show some income, and a couple of testimonials, but that's all.

My tutoring and graphic design is actually both on one single website, so I wondered if just presenting all of this together might help, or whether I should pick one!

thanks Steve but this comes round to my original problem, which is that my invoices relate to tutoring. I don't have anything like that for my design work, because most was done a long time.ago, and my more recent work has been done for free in an attempt to build up my portfolio!

would you say that the tutoring with a couple of invoices looks better than designing with an actual website portfolio

Also sure some people here said that they were asked to show income, even those doing soft activities
