There are differences, in particular Visa-on-Arrival is not 60 days. Read up - the Washington embassy has better web pages on this than other embassies.

The airlines (for example SAS) can be pretty stupid about this. A thai friend discovered this at the airport and had to buy an unneeded ticket to Malaysia.
