@Cris *****
when she made her first entry, they take her for interview, I had to wait at baggage claim. She said lady and man in the room, very friendly. Asked her if she was carrying cash and how much, she said “I don’t know 10 or 15,000”. They both said what?! The guy asked USD, she said no THB, they had a good laugh about it 🤣

Same happened to us. Was denied 3 times. Never looked at any documents on the first 2 visits. My wife said the staff was very rude. On the 3rd, the gentleman was much nicer, looked at all the documents and told her application for tourist visa was wrong. Need to apply for “marriage visa” which turned out to be for a Green Card. But that didn’t suit us either as we didn’t plan on living in the US. Got the Green Card, made our trip, then cancelled the Green Card and swapped for a 10yr visa 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️. We’ve entered several more times on the 10yr visa.

yes. Immigration had a good laugh. She was talking THB, they were thinking USD 🤣 I know the rule, I wouldn’t carry that much USD. Dropped my wallet on a bus in transfer from Gatwick to Heathrow. Not much cash and was able to recover the wallet in full. Don’t need carry much cash on a plane.

They issue the Green Card after 1st entry, SSA will issue a SSN and card. Upon 1st entry they took her to interview room and had me go to baggage claim to wait. She said they were quite friendly and polite. He did ask her how much cash she was carrying and she said about 10 or 15 thousand. He and another woman Imm officer said “what? USD?” She said no Thai Bath, and they all had a good laugh, then said “welcome to America”

I’ve always kept a US address on my US bank accounts. (Many won’t accept a foreign address nor phone number). I use an eSIM with a US number to get access codes. I did file for SS while living here in Thailand and use my Thai address as residence but I keep my deposits going to a financial institution in the US. I received mailing from SS here and still have to fill out and return “proof of life” form every year. Reason I used foreign for SS is because since ‘98 been living abroad and filed taxes as foreign resident There is really no bank mail to worry about as everything is paperless anyway. Any mail that does come through to my son is just scanned to me and most of the time is just junk mail.

I used “SlingTV” and VPN until Sling they priced themselves ridiculously high.
