I’m assuming by short term housing you mean temporary. If it’s a hotel then they should file a TM30 electronically. Not wanting to make the long term commitment until all your ducks are in a row makes sense. When you find a longer term rental condo etc then often the landlord will file electronically or you’ll have to spend some time down at immigration with all your document “proof”. Sometimes the landlord will accompany you but it can be easy or it can be a hassle. I’d recommend finding some place close to where you’ll studying. No, you don’t need to update your visa application but you do need to notify immigration each time you move and you’re supposed to notify them each time you leave and return to the country but some offices have different requirements and don’t require it if you’re still at the same address. It can be complicated at times.

Get a mail service that scans and emails it to you.

Just get a 60 day tourist visa in the US. You can extend that for 30 days.

You have to leave Thailand with the correct paperwork to obtain a Non B visa then you reenter Thailand and your employer is supposed to apply for a work permit in Thailand (cannot be done outside Thailand).

If you’re already employed legally with a work permit you can take on an additional part time position assuming teaching + teaching. Usually it’s part time tutoring after hours at your regular school.

With a marriage visa a school has less paperwork to do because they don’t have to support a visa and can just do the paperwork for a work permit. Also less expensive for them. Having a marriage visa (non O) doesn’t automatically mean you can work. It doesn’t automatically include a work permit but it does allow the employer to apply for one for you.

I have 0 experience personally with this but I’ve of course spoken to many teachers and haven’t come across this in the ESL realm. Perhaps it’s more common in International schools.

You might try your question in some teacher specific groups too.
