in appreciate that. I think the are valid reasons to do it, but most of the cats in here are definitely thinking of their future ex wife with these strategies.
I haven't met with a lawyer on it yet. I always find it funny when people refer me to western lawyer here since that is one of the protected professions. Why would I trust them to deal straight with me when they are already bucking the system. It's like marrying a lady that you had an affair with.
Anyway, loosely my plan is to try to encumber the land with debt (to me) to prevent some farmer relative from borrowing money against it. Because they don't seem to have the concept of title searches and insurance here I don't know if I can get enough protection in place, but I'll try. I'm not worried about me losing the house. It is for THEM. I'm just worried about them losing it due to lack of financial sophistication. We actually have a business and so I think we might be able to legally have the business own the house- but I've heard maintaining that setup is a bit pricey and I'm relatively poor.
Oye mate, sorry people were shitty about it. However, tread softly. I am VERY well versed in this subject through: I married a Thai and through her I see the antics of friends and family. It is a much more subtle issue than most people give it credit for.
