thank you, tried that. They wanted proof of residency. I appreciate your response though. My main goal is getting my money in place before my move. As I have said before, I appreciate all the time and effort you put into helping make everyone's transition to Thailand as painless as possible. 👍 I will add as an after thought, that my gf is a Lao lady that lives in Tha Bo on a visa. Her son ( thai born) is her guarantor.

in Tha Bo it was a hard No from every bank, not a lot of choices. Any suggestions? Won't be there permanently until Dec 2024, just wanted to get finances set, if I can.

agreed, as a driver in the U.S, what one officer might ticket you for another officer might not even care about.

agree, took 20 minutes. Will also note that you don't have to be a AAA member.

does he also need the motorcycle endorsement on his U.S. drivers license as well? I was told my IDP only covers what I am licensed for in the U.S.

I have seen you not be civil, I was just glossing you up🙂 I have seen questions that I have thought "are you serious, right now?" and you were much nicer than I might have been. Not necessarily civil, but by no means mean even if they might have deserved a little sass. Take good care.

, this a little off-topic but, I just wanted to give you a shout-out for all your awesome advice on this page. I have gained quite a bit of knowledge just paying attention to your responses. I also like the fact that you speak in a civil manner to people regardless of the question. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

it sounded dangerous because leaving your home and moving overseas is something so alien to her that she couldn't begin to comprehend it. I work on a military base where most are well traveled and when I mention moving to Thailand next year, I usually get " that sounds so awesome "

Even if retirement doesn't work for you there, you should definitely go. It's a beautiful country.
