Is the fast track immigration service in Thailand worth it and what are the costs involved?

Looks like it is only good if you are staying 2 weeks or less. It wouldn't let me sign up because I am staying a month.

If I do decide to live there is there a visa available that I wouldn't have to check in with immigration so often, maybe a one year visa?

So if I understand correctly a double entry visa gives me 2 entries, two two month extensions and two 30 day extensions.....is that correct?

Sorry to jump into the middle of this thread but I am coming to Thailand (Chiang Mai) in November with the idea of staying 3-6 months to get an idea if I would like to live there. Would I get the 30 day visa when I arrive and them renew it every 30 days for the 3-6 months or is there another visa I should get?

This is quite worrisome, I am on my second trip to Thailand this year and had planned on coming back again in November but I guess I will have to cancel that trip if we are only allowed to come here twice a year.
