I'm a straight male married to an awesome Thai woman. However, I'm a firm believer in human resources. You have to "mine" these resources like any other to find the best. I doubt that any group of people will be more qualified in the area of aesthetics.
the 60 day exemption is going to be around a while. Thailand wants to promote tourism as much as possible. You can even get a 30 day extension for a small fee. I paid $200 for a 6 month multiple re-entry tourist visa the Thai embassy in Chicago, but that was 6+ years ago. Good luck!
