Anonymous participant 777 IMHO you should be fine. You're over doing it because Hanoi requires only the last 3 months statements. HCMN requires last 6 months.
That's not the point. First you can't file in person, only online. You get to know more once you file online. The website will show you which one for where. Get on it and read what it says.
Let's put it this way... I went to Da Nang, Vietnam and filed through the HCMN consulate. Every source of information and friends who did the same said 5 working days.
It took them 17 working days to approve mine. You just can't schedule a trip before you have DTV visa in your hand. I also have met a Dutch guy who did every single homework right and got rejected 3 times.
Core requirements include a completed application form, recent passport photo, passport biodata copy, and proof of 500,000 THB (about 15,000 USD) in a bank account from the last 3 months.
Then I know that the one in VNM HCMN requires 6 months of constant 500k on your home bank account.
Whatever happened to anyone else and worked was a bonus or hit the joker. Is it worth the $600 gamble? Not to me but if it is for you, go for it.
