Transferwise still sends transfers with International Transfer/Deposit indicated on your statement. Are you selecting the last option For Long Term Stay in Thailand?
I did receive once my Transfer indicating Domestic from a local entity in Thailand.
That was a mix up because I complained about a new partner they have called Plaid. I was in a hurry to receive the transfer so Wise triggered a Domestic money transfer.
Just talking out loud here but my experience is that the money in Thailand bank accounts is mainly for the 1 year visa extensions.
My experience also reveals that Thai immigration demands that the money must be in your name in a Thai bank account. They don’t want to see any other documentation about the minimums other than a printout of funds being transferred from an international account. I believe I recently heard that they are doing entry visa extensions 60 or 90 days at a time up to one year due to COVID-19 travel anomalies. They also want you to spend more of your money here.
The adoption of the “One SOP, One System” model for the re-opening of Pattaya, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Cha-am, and Bangkok from October 1 is being submitted to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration next week and also includes a proposal to halve the costs of Covid-19 tests.
by November there are plans to open up more destinations without quarantine if you are fully vaccinated. Continue research and check back October 1. The government makes changes each end of month.
my Thai/American friend doesn’t complain much and he travels a lot but once he got a nose swab to the brain and he said the sensation/pain lingered longer than usual. Fully vaccinated Moderna and masked he tested positive on arrival in Phuket Sand Box last week and is doing his 2nd Sand Box in hospital as we speak.
