Don't they have special exceptions for airline pilots? Just call your embassy in Thailand instead of asking here or ask your company to help fix it

Can I use my phone's wifi to run a TV box with channels in Thailand?

Maybe just consider taking true move or 3bb or AIS with a settopbox and wired connection if you have the option. It's maybe 700 baht a month for internet. I think we use AIS. It has channels on the AiS app and Netflix and YouTube and you can install more apps like cinema Hq or Kodi for movies and channels

Is it better to carry cash or use cards for travel in Thailand?

In most places its convenient to have a thai bankaccount and pay through an app from that bank, using a qr code. Cash is always a good backup to have
