no advice from me because immigration here didn't have a clue. Actually thought about contacting thai department of foreign affairs to request exception, because I have a business and my visa went to tourist because of CV.
U can't go back to Victoria atm, they stopped all hotel quarantine.
Taiwan and quarantine.
I think the Australian Quarantine is wrong. The government should pay and be outside cities with open space. I get anxiety and claustrophobia. I can't even fly in a middle seat.
Have you requested a letter from the Australian embassy to stay longer in Thailand?
If you can't get a flight, or there is a CV break out in your country, I think you can stay longer.
Or stay and pay over stay fee, and hope things change.
I am not looking forward to returning to Australia, $3000 forced to stay in a room. No CV here in Thailand, more in Victoria or NSW, and would prefer a tent near a river and a tracking device.
Maybe if you are very skilled in forklifts, like amazing unique, and a company here needs your skill, or maybe the business you work for is connected to Thailand and arrange something. Also depends on your country and Thai arrangements.
Thailand has a lot of logistic activity. So much potential for business to the world.
I am on a tourist visa which I had two entries plus an extension done in 2020. You are only allowed two per year.
I was on Non B but when CV came around we decided to not visit Singapore for a new non B, so used two tourist visa via a border.
I was told to come back in August. I will likely be allowed to get an extra month after September 26. I also have a letter from my embassy, business papers etc... and will likely get another after that. They will review the situation in September.
IMO they should make it easier because if you have money or income then why force people to spend it going home.
they had plane tickets, one guy paid $6k to Australia, and there were more expensive tickets, then $3k for Australian quarantine. If I decide to come back then add more. At those prices I wouldn't come back.
I went from non B to a tourist visa with intentions to get a new non B but just as CV started. I have business partnership, letter from my embassy, but yesterday at immigration it was no clear answer except wait for announcement. They then said come back in August, and also said from September 27 come get a new 30 day.
We did the right thing by not going to Singapore because of CV, have the business papers, a letter from my embassy, but get no real direction.
Two weeks ago, I was told no no no go home, then yes yes yes, then wait.
IMO Thailand would be best to allow foreigners to simply extend. Why spend $10k to go home, and then not come back. $10k is better spent employing people here.
