I was told to make sure I spent all of my Laos Kip before leaving as you can't use it anywhere in Thailand.

So, I spent it all but when I got to the border to cross back into Thailand I needed to purchase a card (11,000 kip) to scan as I walked through the entrance.

We thought it was no problem and headed to the ATM. Little did we know ALL 3 ATM'S were not working and we couldn't get any money.

Be sure you have 11,000 kip to come back into Thailand 😂

Don't forget the pic for the Visa on arrival at Laos border too. You will need 3 pics total for the trip.

They also charged me $1 in addition because I showed after hours. There are signs that say they do this if you try to cross on holidays, weekends, before and after business hours - 8:30am - 4:30pm. The border crossing hours are 6am-10pm.

I think you can get up to 10 days if you go there and let immigration know what the situation is. Not sure but worth a try. Bot sure on price either. I heard someone doing/asking to do this.
