I'm a us citizen flying into chiang mai. I'm staying 6 days and exiting the country into laos in chiang khong. A week later I'll be flying back to chiang mai from Cambodia with several hours until my flight back to the united states. I'll have to go thru customs/immigration to get my checked bag and then check it back in with the airline I'm flying home with.

So here's my question, will I have to pay the visa fee again since I have to go thru immigration or will they honor my previous stamp in my passport from the week before?

Also how much is the initial fee?

Thank you for your help!

I miscalculated days I stay in Chiangmai. My outward flight is 2days after my visa to be expired. Should I extend the visa or just pay penalty when I leave?

I recently arrived on a Visa exemption (30 days, EU-passport).

In the past I extended at immigration for another 30 days. From reading I see that this 30 days extension has changed to 7 days extension only.

Is this correct ? Is it 7 days extension only now or still 30 days ?

I plan to extend in Chiang Mai.

For a Non-OA to Non-O, based on over 50 years old, conversion. I have reviewed prior posts, including the excellent guidelines, but would appreciate some guidance on the following.

Currently on an extension based on my 2018 Non-OA visa, USA passport, extension valid until October 27, live in Chiang Mai.

The timing is very important to me since I want to have my annual extension renewals due about mid-February of each year, for which I can apply up to 30 days in advance in Chiang Mai. I leave CM each year for 2-3 months, usually in mid to late February. Once I am clear on the items below, I can calendar it out to figure out the best time to leave the country without a reentry permit and return 1 to 2 weeks later on a visa exempt entry - which likely will be 45 days if I return in October

1. After returning, I get 30 or 45 days and will soon apply for an in-country Non-O based on 50+ years old, at least 21 days before my permission to stay expires. Question: will that 90 day Non-O begin on the date of application or approval, or will it start at the end of my visa exempt expiration date?

2. When I apply for a 1 year extension of stay, based on that 90 day Non-O, will the extension begin on the date of application or approval, or will it start at the end of the 90 day Non-O expiration date?

3. Re: requirement of proving origin from funds out of the country. I did this 2 years when I got my first OA extension 2 years ago. The deposit has remained in my Bangkok bank account. Do I need to prove the origin again? Can the bank provide me a letter recertifying the origin from a deposit made 2 years ago?

4. Am I correct that no health insurance at all is required?

I am aware of the other documents and requirements for applying. Thanks for your advice.

I'm currently in the "Under Consideration" period for the COVID visa extension (in Chiang Mai). When I go back for the follow-up meeting in 2 weeks, what should I expect? Do I need to bring anything besides my passport? Should I expect much questioning? Is it quick?

Thanks!!

I am planning to stay 6 months in Phuket and 6 months in Chiang Mai, what visa would be suitable for me? As I understand for ED visa, you have to extend your visa at the same immigration office as the visa was issued.

Before coming to Thailand I went to the Thai Embassy and Consulate in Washington,DC to get a 2 month visa. I got a sticker in my passport after waiting a few days. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, they stamped my passport with a 30 day visa. Can anybody look at these pictures and let me know if I have overstayed or not?

UPDATE: Went to immigration today and they changed the date to March 24 fo freeee. Thanks for the advice everyone

Hi everyone I need your help and some enlightenment.

I am a Philippines Passport Holder.

I arrived last year Nov. 21 by land border from Siem Reap.

I did a visa run to Mei Sai Dec 13 2018. Got 30 days.

January 11 2019. I paid for my extension in Chiang Mai.

My Visa would expire on the February 13.

If i go to Mei Sai for my first border run for 2019..

Would i be given another 30 days?

And can I extend it for another 30 days in Pai or Mae Hong Son?

Thank you in advance. 🙏
