You can be asked to show anything by anyone but can you show me a Thai government web site that says if you have a visa then you must still bring the money in?

Been in Thailand for years on two month visas and never been asked prob because we’ve already shown it. Thai government web pages clearly state the requirement is for people entering on visa exempt only.

Why don't you just buy a 60 day visa? If you just buy a visa ahead of time, you're overwhelmingly likely to be admitted. Just spend the $40.

I'd think that's preferable to heading off to Laos. If he can send his kid to university in the USA, he can afford two new visas lol

Sorry about the robbery but can't you go to the DC consulate and get whatever visa they were on added to their new passports? That's what I did.
