no why would l save money in Thailand are you crazy. It's for receiving money into and using cashless payments,buying online,booking tickets,accomodation anything actually l rarely use cash. Thai bank is not a savings account it a transactional account. Of course you are better off saving or investing in yours or other countries even stock market in other countries. That's not why you have a Thai bank account.

firstly you need to differentiate between tourists and those that actually live here regardless of visa status. Cash is not king just because you don't have a bank account this is the way you answer. It's up to the individual but it's fat easier with a Thai bank account it opens fat more opportunities not only to pay but also save money.it is also far more secure than cash,you can also track your spending and paying by QR you always have a receipt of purchase. This is an isolated case. It's not normal to have to show any documentation on entry with a DTV. Does someone entering on a retirement visa have to show 800k in their bank to officers at airport. No no so don't worry it's not a rule. I wouldn't be showing them anything l have my visa for 5 years multi entry
