Asking for proof of funds would be the most logical way to see if you still qualify for a DTV. As we all know Thailand is all about the money.

 Sure is. I also went there last week to update my mobile number. Nothing said about providing a TIN or my home country Tax ID.

 I've had a Thai bank since 2015. Stayed longer than 180 days in a few years and haven't paid any tax.
