A fixed interest account also worked for us at Krabi immigration for the the last 4 years but as always, different immigration offices might have different views on this issue

As for the 90 days Non O visa: The embassy issuing the visa will not ask for a return ticket within 90 days but several airlines will. For instance Quatar. It happened to me a week ago when flying back to Thailand with a new Non O visa issued in my country of birth. Luckily I had booked another flight back to my country of birth within 90 days, otherwise they would not let me enter the airplane. Will now postpone this flight, as I will apply for a yearly extension of stay based on this visa.

Suppose this is also true for foreigners getting out of ASQ and prolonging their stay in Bangkok for a few days at the time being? Aware that things might change until we get out of ASQ on Feb. 19th.

It is correct that you need to letters. But these can both reference the same policy if it meets both requirements.

It is an information provided on the website of the Thay embassy in Switzerland:

As previously stated: same company and same policy is possible but be aware that you have to meet the minimuml requirements for COVID as well as for the Non O-A visa, resulting in acoverage for inpatient at 100'000 Dollars and coverage for outpatient at a miniumum of 40'000 Baht. Be also aware that if you choose a non Thai company, you will not be able to extend your visa after one year within Thailand (or you will have to change companies again or buy an additional policy from a Thai company that meets the minimal requirement for extension).

Let's hope the plan will come true. Embassy in Switzerland just states: No official decision taken yet.
