When my cambodian fiancé applied for ED visa a few years back she could only apply from outwith Thailand. Came to Thialand on 60 day tourist visa and the school supplied all the necessary paperwork to apply for her ED visa at Thai consulate in Phnom Penh. Not sure if actially ok now to apply from within thailand or is yet another income stream for certain establishments.

- thats good news thanks. We have already enrolled her in school but i am wary of the next steps for ED visa - how long did it take your kids ?

Very interesting - can you please tell me what process was followed for chidrens ED visas and your wife as a dependant - i am currently in Thailand and our cambodian 4 yr old child has now enrolled in school here. Her cambodian mother is here on a tourist visa. I was hoping to get the child an ED visa and her mother a dependants visa. Nothing is straight forward at the moment as they have stopped issuing ED visas but unsure of this includes foreign national school children.

- an option would be to fly to phnom penh - get a hotel near the riverfront - visit an agent - apply for 60 day tourist visa. Or pay 250 bht for mini bus to poipet - then bus to phnom pehn - apply for tourist visa and fly back to Thailand. If you search on skyscanner you can choose days when flights are cheap. 3000 bht return if you are flexible on dates. Good luck.
