Thanks for the replies and yes, a new non-O in Germany is probably the easiest option, just hoped I could avoid the trip to Frankfurt.

By the way, one visa service in Pattaya offered to get me an extension of my existing visa before I travel for 35,000THB. I thankfully denied.
