trouble is it's all about face in Thailand,I think if they don't know and they ask a superior. They are admitting they don't know and to a Thai they will lose face,assume that's why you ask again someone else knows and hey presto you get your bank account

Used to be able to walk in any bank with your passport,but now not easy,do you have a Thai wife or friend who can sign as guarentor which is what I did with kasikorn

That it true ,just amazed at the amount of idiots that say 20k bht cash or similar in foriegn money isnt needed BECUASE IVE NEVER BEEN ASKED

One indivdual who is also insurance agent and a travel company both based in thailand seem very genuine both have good reputation,but as you say plenty of sharks preying on people

Ok ,but plenty of agents take the pxxs as well,one agents wanted to charge someone bht to do coe few months ago

Agree BUT if someone is totally useless on a computer (people like me ) and need help and have to turn to someone for help

The agents ! Who charge excessive fees yes ,there are a couple of genuine people who will do it for a small fee

well said I put 500.000bht down which was given back as it was money I would give to my wife towards the home I was buying for her,not to go back into my account

Sin sod is a chinese tradition that thailand embraced (nothing wrong with that)showing respect to your future in laws for bringing up the woman you will marry and the cost of doing so
