TLDR : Answer Summary
The minimum bank account balance required for a Thai Tourist Visa can vary depending on the embassy. It is commonly suggested that travelers should show an equivalent of 20,000 baht (around £500) on entry, though this is rarely enforced. For specific visas like the Special Tourist Visa (STV), applicants have reported being asked for a minimum balance of £5,000 at the London embassy. Generally, providing a bank statement with the required balance suffices, and experiences indicate that such checks are infrequent.

In all my times coming to Thailand since 1999 I’ve never been asked, but on several occasions I’ve seen it done to backpackers.

I sent them a copy of my checking acct statement showing my balance and 2 direct checks being put in my acct. No problems at all.

on entry they can ask to see 20.000 baht i believe the number is,
but this, to my experience almost never happens,
i guess if you show em your account and balance on a phone for instance incase it happens, this would be accepted. In other words, i would not worry about it,
they are probably busy enough handling the paperwork concerning modern travel anyways.
as for actual visa, it should be stated on the e-visa site if needed, stv is also different again, i suggest reading alot on the pages of your local embassy.

20,000 baht thai or equivalent in any currency
Don't know what country you are from but I think your better to bring your own currency, maybe a small amount of baht for couple of days,DO NOT CHANGE THE MONEY IN THE AIRPORT (super Rich ) ok but think still shut, use one of the independent exchange booths for the best rates when you out and about
