Just an add on to question , keep your passport on you , for your own version of the thai i.d system. At some big goverment events ( i was in bkk a couple of days ago ), you will be asked for your passport as i.d. . Hope this helps. ,

No , she is stuck in the u.k. on that visa.

Each country you wish to visit requires a visa. I tried to get my wife to Gibralta on a uk. Visa but a no- go. Only can do jersey..,

Can my Thai girlfriend extend her 6-month visa in the UK or does she need to return to Thailand?

No she has to go back to thailand , & start the u.k. visa process again. I think she can do a 1 ,2 ,5 or 10 year holiday visa to visit the u.k.
