How can I find out about my friend in a Thai prison if the US Embassy requires his permission?

I did prison visits like once every 3 months and kept records when working at consular office of the Korean embassy Bangkok several years back. I'm pretty sure other embassies have similar policy on prison visits. Contact your embassy and inquire any info. You might get lucky.
