do as Stuart said regarding the non-o visa, once in Thailand get the TM30 from your hotel/condo (you might have to ask for this) then go to your nearest immigration office and ask to change it to a residents certificate (it'll cost about 60 to 70thb) once you have your certificate go to the bank with your residents certificate, printed copy of your non-o visa and passport bio page, your passport and the 800,000thb to be deposited, I recommend Kasicorn bank (the green one) once it's been in for 2 months then ask the bank for a statement so you can apply for the 12 month extension (aka retirement visa) to your non-o visa, good luck and hope this helps you 🙏😊❤🇹🇭

I've just opened an account with Kasikorn bank (the green one) last week, all they wanted was my non-o visa, passport and resident certificate from immigration for 60thb, give them a try as most of the banks are now refusing to give accounts to people they think dont live here, good luck 👍😊

why pay £30 for a 60 day visa and deal with the thai embassy asking for passport details and photos, intinary showing entering and exiting dates etc when you can get it for free on visa exempt, semi retired, self employed, backpackers and gap year students are all people that will use the 60 day visa exempt 😊🙏

George's Thailand Trip 2024, you can apply for a 90 day non-o retirement visa from the UK and it's my understanding that you could open a bank account, Bangkok bank is probably the best to try first, they have now stopped people opening bank accounts on a tourist visa, once you have an account with Bangkok bank then the other banks might give you an account, I'm not an expert but that's what I've been told and that's what I intend to do on my next visit, you could get an agent to do this but they can be a bit expensive, hope this helps you 🙏

for the last 7 or 8 years I've been coming to Thailand on a 60 day tourist visa with an exit date of 90 days from entry, when I arrive at BKK they can see this and understand that I'll be getting the 30 day extension, I normally wait until I have 2 or 3 days left on my 60 day visa before I extend at Chiang Mai immigration and never had a problem, hope this helps 🙏

In my experience it normally takes about a week but remember that if you are applying from the UK to the Thai embassy in London then they may of closed for the Christmas holiday, if your application says it's pending then you should get your visa soon, if you have missed some information then it'll probably be cancelled and you will have to re-apply, hope this helps 😊🙏
