Thai immigration are going to be a lot stricter on overstaying, after all this is only a tourist exempt visa, yes in the past people just paid the fine, so they give you longer visa to stop the need to overstay,if you stay longer then your not a tourist

Don’t advise people to over stay, they offer 60 days plus 30, because of this Thai Immigration are clamping down hard on over stay, and remember you can only do 60 days twice in a year . If you overstay you could be banned for a year or more.

You can apply for it, but you can not use it until it is posted in the Thai national gazette which should be soon, if you travel before it’s 30days

Thailand still having to go through quarantine for U.K. not in the first 59, but could be added soon, first 59 on July 10th, Thailand is on the list for travel too, so should open up for getting covid insurance.
