Hello. I am looking to come to Thailand for four months in December. I intend on travelling to Nepal for one week whilst there.
I know we can now get a 60 day travellers visa but how will I be able to stay for another 56 days?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses options for staying in Thailand for an extended period after initially entering on a 60-day tourist visa. The main suggestion is to leave for a short trip to Nepal and then re-enter Thailand to secure another 60-day stamp. There are discussions about visa rules, including mentions of overstay fines and visa exemptions for different passport holders, as well as personal travel experiences. The conversation emphasizes compliance with Thai immigration laws and the importance of understanding the limitations on visa extensions. Overall, the community provides various perspectives on managing extended stays in Thailand.

I hate to be the one to point it out.... There isn't four months in December
So why did you? He actually said he would be coming to Thailand for 4 months in December meaning he would arrive in December and stay for 4 months! Who's the dummy now?

how do i apply for a 60 day tourist visa from australia
You can come and go by air as you please as long as you don't appear to be living long term in thailand. So you can do visa exception, leave when you need to, stay 10 to 30 days in another country and Thailand will welcome you back. (Try to spend less than six months in the year in Thailand.

Run to any border Laos, Cambodia, Malaysia or sailing to Langkawi and back 🤣
Don’t advise people to over stay, they offer 60 days plus 30, because of this Thai Immigration are clamping down hard on over stay, and remember you can only do 60 days twice in a year . If you overstay you could be banned for a year or more.
If you check you’ll see I haven’t told anyone what to do and I’m not putting anything on anyone else.
And these things have nothing to do with fear. In my opinion, if the Thai government are good enough to let me visit their country then all I can do is live by their laws.
Thai immigration are going to be a lot stricter on overstaying, after all this is only a tourist exempt visa, yes in the past people just paid the fine, so they give you longer visa to stop the need to overstay,if you stay longer then your not a tourist

As before you start a new visa excempt period, every time you enter Thailand visa excempt.
you can get a 60 free entry stamp on arrival…leave within 60 days go to Nepal for say a week or so then return and get another 60 day stamp on arrival as it’s just been changed to 60 day stamp for uk passport holders
By then you likely can take your trip to Nepal half way through the 4 months, and then come back into Thailand without a visa for the remainder of your stay
