I think or hope it is only Covid coverage not Health Ins. I am over 70 and connot get or afford Health Ins so I could not leave Thailand and return. I have Non Immigrant O which I got inside Thailand.

@Benjamin *****
are you talking about Covid Ins? I think only Non Immigrant O A requires health insurance at this time.

i am over 70 and long term health ins is cost prohibitive if even available. I am self insured with returning to US and medicare as my back up for serious problems. But luckily in excellent health.

the problem with the Non O-A is that it requires proof of health Ins. The Non O obtained in Thailand, for now, does not. Come in on Tourist Visa then get 90 Non O followed by 1 year extension based on retirement.

if you apply outside ,thailand isn't that the Non Res OA and requires Health Ins.? Inside Thailand it is Non Res O which does not require Health Ins at this time.

I got my Non Res O inside Thailand.

90 day Tourist Visa, while in Thailand got Non Res O. 90 day then got 1 yr extension based on Ŕetirement.

So to convert from OA to O you can leave Thailand and get a 90 Tourist Visa and while here apply for Non Res O 90day Visa then 1 yr extensions based on Retirement correct?

NON O.

You obtain NON O A in your home country and it requires Health Ins.
