because a border bounce to Malaysia (quite close to where I’m at) costs me less than 1000 baht for transportation, accommodation, and food, as opposed to paying 1900 baht at the local immigration office and sitting outdoors for up to two hours waiting for them to process my application. Plus doing a border run is like a mini adventure instead of a bureaucratic process.
I went to the official website and painstakingly filled out the 60 day tourist visa application correctly after several attempts. Before I could submit my application, I attempted to complete the payment process and my credit card repeatedly was rejected. I tried a different credit card and it was also rejected. I think that website is trash. Came to Thailand anyway on a visa exemption and made a border run after 30 days to get a second exemption. I was upset over the time I wasted trying to purchase the 60 day tourist visa, but I’m over that clown show now.
